Living Canvas Art Company, LCAC, is the ultimate progression of an innocent school project started in 2003, when Rachel Arnott was 15. Her English class project was to interview someone in the career of her choice. Her choice was Tattooing.
Rachel nervously entered Rob G's Tiger Tattoos in Kissimmee with notepad in hand and a list of questions, not knowing that the 2 hours spent in that shop talking to the owner, Rob G, would change her life forever. Not only did Rob recognize a shy, talented and passionate artist, but also introduced her to her next major passion - Tigers!
Over the next 2 years Rachel made frequent visits to the shop with her artwork and once she graduated high school she began volunteering with two privately-owned Tigers, Chuffer and Janda. She also began her apprenticeship in August 2006. Her Mentor, Spooks Joya, saw her passion for art, and began the laborious task of shaping and molding her into a Tattoo Artist. There were days when he was so proud of her, and days that he just wanted to give up, but he knew there was something in her, and everyday, worked to break the shell of this shy, quiet, girl and make her into a proud female tattoo artist. When her time was right, she was tagged as "Ms. London", and Rob G tagged her as his "Secret Weapon". She became one of only a select few to be called Rob G's "Shop Family". we were the crew of Tiger Tattoos and a force to be reckoned with.
2009 was a devastating year, as Rachel's Boss, the man who got her started in the tattoo world, Rob G, passed away suddenly on January 26th. His "Shop Family" tried to continue the legacy of such a great man, and found forces beyond their control ripped them apart, but they always stayed in touch, helping each other out in which ever way possible, and out of the ashes of what once was the great Rob G's Shop Family, became two amazing shops, Living Canvas Art Company, owned and operated by Rachel "Ms. London" Arnott, and Fallen Sparrow Tattoo Company, owned and operated by Spooks Joya and Jose "Legion" Avegno. Both shops owe their gratitude to the principles that Rob G instilled in his Artists, and the impessions he left on everyone he came into contact with during his life, whether spiritually or physically with the tattoos he did. They live by his words, "One Love, Live Life."
*Rachel is an artist first and foremost, having won awards throughout school, graduating with honors in art, and even has her artwork on permanent loan to the Orlando Museum of Art.
*She has also won "Artist of the Convention" at the 2009 South Florida Tattoo Expo.
